My son asked me how Kim Kardashian got rich and famous. I didn’t really know what to say. The answer is both simple and complex. She has a raging mom who pushed her daughters into the limelight. The family searches to overcompensate for some sort of emotional cocktail of entitlement, insecurity, and narcissism. They all get fulfillment in the most pathetic and public ways. America is stupid enough to fall for this crap. I don’t know. Who the hell are the Kardashians and why are they rich and famous?
“So wait a sec, you’re telling me that she’s famous for nothing? She’s RICH for doing NOTHING?”
“Yup, pretty much,” I sighed.
“Well, I want to be a Kardashian when I grow up!” he exclaimed.
And just like that, my dreams of medicine, law, heck anything for my firstborn were dashed.
To be fair, it’s a lot of work to be famous for nothing.
I laughed. Now, I’m trying to figure out which one it was. I have a good idea…
