As an “accidental activist,” I dedicate my time and talent to advocate for myriad issues like public education, equity, global health, and food insecurity. I use my voice literally and figuratively as a public speaker and writer. I have two sons, Bird, age 17, and Deal, age 15 (hence the Dirt & Noise). I’ve been married to Mac Daddy for 20 years. I am a progressive left leaning woman who has a soft spot for kids and animals (but not snakes) and impossibly high standards. I love a tidy house, 80s music, and dresses with pockets. I always have a secret stash of chocolate and gummi bears (don’t tell my kids).
When I’m not working or writing, I’m reading, cooking, binging some guilty pleasure, or daydreaming about my next world adventure.
