Ilinap · December 27, 2012 ·

From the Walmart Holiday Guide

Attention Walmart Shoppers!

Remember when I posted about Flatout flatbread that made for a delicious weeknight pizza and easy entertaining chow? Well, you too can have a flatout great time cooking for your family and friends.

Just leave a comment to win a $50 gift card to Walmart. It’s practically the only thing that is easier than whipping up a Flatout good, easy, quick meal. (Giveaway rules – U.S.-only, age 18 and up.) I’ll choose the winner through random.org on December 31, 2012.

And to give you a little nudge, here’s the latest Flatout hit with my boys.

Barbeque Chicken Flatbread Pizza

Spread some barbeque sauce on whole wheat Flatout flatbread. Top with leftover grilled chicken and or pork, cut into bite size pieces or shredded. Add a generous helping of mozzarella cheese on top. Sprinkle on some chopped fresh cilantro and rings of red onions (Caramelized onions are delish too if you have the time to cook em up.). Bake it as directed on the package and enjoy! I’m telling you, this us mighty tasty. Make double what you think you’ll need. I assure you, your family and friends will go gaga for this one.

Now leave a comment to win $50, mkay?

This reminds me of the chicken, white sauce, and bacon pizza they have at Dominos. I’m trying to eat healthy and this kind of thin flatbread thing is actually really good. You just now need a matching mixed drink to go with it. ๐Ÿ™‚

While I wouldn’t use it for me, if you give me the $50 in Walbux, I promise to spend it on food etc for the Food Bank, or as a direct donation to someone who really needs the money for essentials. That’s the best thing to do with Walmart money, I’m guessing that the gift card is donated, what better thing to do, but give it to a deserving person/family?

Great ideas. I’ve used pesto spread as a base plus chopped spinach, sun dried tomatoes, diced red onion, kalamata olives (pitted, of course) and feta cheese. For crunch I’ve added toasted pine nuts. Looks good, too!

I like the flat outs. I would make one in the style of Mello Mushroom in Charlottesville. I would use a fresh avocado slice and put on top of sprouts (wheat I think). I think it be very good with a thin spread of cream cheese. I don’t know if your boys will like it, but I sure do!

With a son with a dairy allergy, if we want pizza we usually need to make it at home to accommodate his (admittedly awful) dairy-free cheese. This makes it so easy for everyone to pick their own toppings to personalize their meal.
