Mother Nature must think we are all April Fools. Despite her attempt to keep us in winter’s gnarly nailed grip, we are busting out of this frigid mess one open toed shoe, one pedicure, one pollen laden porch chat, one cocktail at a time.
I blame Disney for this.

I’m breaking out the gin to usher in spring. I eshew gin all year long and eagerly await spring’s warmth to crack open some Bombay or Hendrick’s. Ah, the sweet smell of juniper!
Thaw
1 ounce gin
3 ounces sour mix
1ounce grapefruit juice
splash lime seltzer water
lime wedge
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add gin, sour mix, grapefruit juice, and seltzer. Shake ‘er up gently. This isn’t the time to take out your aggression on Mother Nature., Elsa, and Anna. Strain into a martini glass. Now put a jaunty little spring in your step.
