Opting Out

Ilinap · March 11, 2014 ·

I challenge you to find one person who likes standardized testing. That person cannot be someone who profits from said testing. Neither teacher, nor parent, nor student supports these tests. Administrators don’t either, but they’ll never admit that to you. The feds have their hands tied. Well, I’m fed up.

I’m testy about this focus on testing with nary a care for the best interests of children.

I wrote a little something about for my local paper.

My voice alone, while loud, won’t drive change. Parents, we have voices that need to be heard. Turn up the volume.

I too am dealing with a struggling third grader who is stressed about passing EOG. I am curious – what was the response of your principal?
