Keurig Welcomes Me Home

Ilinap · August 21, 2011 ·

The thing about vacation is the lack of coffee at my disposal. I don’t dare use the puny hotel coffee maker. You know I’m afraid of germs and all things unclean, right? That coffee maker is most certainly germy, and I don’t need Matt Lauer and a black light to prove it. Blech. Besides, the place we stayed in Chicago didn’t even have a puny coffee maker in the room, which is just dandy because I wouldn’t have used it anyway. There was a Starbucks in the lobby. And around the corner. And down the block. And across the street. I wasn’t hurting for coffee but what I really wanted was a cup of coffee that didn’t require me putting on pants.

I don’t travel with a French press or little camping espresso maker. For starters, I don’t camp and don’t own one bit of camping gear. And I’m betting that the people who pack an espresso machine to go camping are poseurs who will likely be eaten by a bear. I happen to enjoy my morning cup of coffee. I like the ritual of a cup of java, warm mug in my hand, steam rising to ever so softly fog up my glasses. I like my coffee strong and black. And plentiful. Every time I stay in a hotel I miss that morning ritual and am pretty crabby until I get my coffee. Mac Daddy will attest to this.

When I got home and saw a box nestled next to the rocking chairs on my porch, I was ecstatic. I knew it was my latest K-Cup portion pack shipment. This particular box was all about donuts. I love me some donuts. Drinking the chocolate glazed donut a la coffee was tasty and better for my waistline. My tastebuds were still clamoring for the real deal, but let’s just say that a week’s vacation had me bring home a few extra pounds that were not in my luggage.

I’m happy to be home for many reasons, but at the top of the list is my Keurig. It came in handy while the boys slept until 9:00 this morning…I had my morning coffee in peace without the grinder waking them. Life’s small moments are the ones that count, and I prefer to enjoy my slice of alone time with a mug of coffee in hand.

Check out all the Donut House flavors here: http://donuthousecoffeekcups.com/ And…you can get a discount on your very own donut in a mug. Just use code AM0014-3577 to get 15% off the entire store and free shipping (no minimum purchase required!). This code will be active 8/15 through 9/25. This offer cannot be combined with any other offer, including Café EXPRESS memberships. I’m not making a buck if you click, I’m just sharing a good deal with my readers. Click here to get brewing!

The fine print: I am a Keurig Brand Ambassador. I get the K-Cups for free, but my opinions cannot be bought.

Welcome Home! I like the morning coffee ritual, too. We don’t drink coffee all day long, just a cup for breakfast and a cup after dinner. Yes, caffinated. I need some strong coffee after dinner so I can stay awake long enough to pull the covers up. Otherwise, I wake up in the middle of the night cold. Haven’t done the Keurig thang. Convenient, I know, but is the coffee any good?

I’m like that with my morning tea. Used to be coffee, but I switched after this last pregnancy. Hope you had a nice vacation. You actually have me wanting coffee and a doughnut.
